local brewery
in the land of myth and legends
THE TWO BOYS
Robert and Oran created Jumping Church Brewery on their family farm in Ardee, Co. Louth. Their family have been farming there for four generations. The area sits between the Dee and Glyde valleys renowned for its rich fertile lands, geographically ideal for growing world class malt barley. A land also steeped in myth and legends, it's where they take their name from the Jumping Church of Kildemock. The two boys at Jumping Church Brewery are passionate about producing exciting beers using only locally sourced natural ingredients.
WHY THE NAME - GAE BOLGA
THE MYSTERY
THE TASTE
Possibly the most intriguiging unsolved mysetery in mid-Louth is that of the s0-called Jumping Church at Kildemock, just outisde Ardee. Nobody knows for sure whether it was natural or supernatural causes that prompted one of the church's walls to mysteriously relocate some two or three feet from its foundations 289 years ago, and prospects of solving the riddle are remote. Thus, the jumping church holds a special place in the fertile folklore of Ireland's smallest county. Intrigued??
We name this beer after the fierce, magical weapon that killed Ferdia in the three day battle he fought with his best friend Cuchulainn.
Pair Gae Bolga with strong spicy foods, pizza and fruity cheddars. Yum!
